Approved Modems
AFN tests all modems proposed for use on it's network so
that we may provide the highest level of support. All DOCSIS (Data Over Cable
Service Interface Specification) modems are not created equal, and we have
actually disapproved several during testing due to support issues.
Cable Modems approved for AFN:
- Samsung InfoRanger SCM series: 100R,
110R, 110R-DPM, 120U
- Toshiba PCX series: 1000, 1100,
2200, 2500, 2600
- Motorola SB series: 4100, 4200,
5100, 5200
- General Instrument SB series: 2100,
3100
- HighSpeed Surfing SM series: 110,

to have AFN evaluate other modems for use on our network please contact your
ISP, however please be aware that it takes us a minimum of a month to evaluate a
new modem.
